No matter where you are, talking to girls is like talking to girls. Otaku are no different, even though you already understand that you have a common interest. If you are here, then not only do you need to understand how to talk to other Otaku, but how to talk to girls in general.
- Start by looking at yourself. Understand that no girls, Otaku or not, are going to want to talk to you if you haven't showered or combed your hair in days. Simple things like deodorant and sparkly, well-brushed teeth can mean the difference between a greeting and a smack.
- Don't be creepy. This is often hardest to understand, and even explain. Basically, don't try to come on too strong until you know more about a person. If you are at a dating event then saying, "Hi, I think you're cute." might be appropriate, but not to random female Otaku at an anime convention.
- Be yourself. Don't try to be that super suave guy who says things like 'Hey baby'. Chances are, that will feel unnatural to you, and it will also scare others away. Being yourself increases your chances of finding someone who might actually be interested in you.
- Learn what Otaku girls like. Girls who like anime often like art, drawing, Japanese music, and many other things that any gender of Otaku like. Spend time making friends with girls and trying to learn what they are most interested in.
